power ranking my teams

As I sit here thinking about the teams that I support. I have to think about which one would I be most excited for, which team wins a championship brings me the most joy and also causes me the most stress. Well i’ve thought it through and here we go –

  1. Tennessee Titans – As someone who lived in Nashville in those years when you pick your team, i was a 5 year old rocking Steve McNair and Eddie George jerseys while my siblings were running around with Frank Wycheck and Javon Kearse ones (we were spoiled with that talent). I remember staying up watching the Texas Rose Bowl where i got to see my eventual QB1 win a Natty and still have his jersey from his rookie year in my closet. Marcus Mariota’s first start was my freshman year of college after we suffered through the Locker and Mettenberger (i genuinely still think he could win a super bowl) years and Ryan Tannehill was traded for my graduating year from college. Every stage of life this team has been there for me and will always.
  2. Arsenal – The Invincibles as a kid who had a British soccer coach and the same name as one of the star players led me to being an Arsenal supporter. It seems that when Arsenal is up, the Titans are down and the other way around. This team had success when I was younger and since then the closest I have gotten to real joy are the few FA Cup runs. Some of my favorite athletes have been Arsenal players (Olivier Giroud, the most underrated striker of this generation), despite having to deal with Chamakh (iykyk) and Willian. This Premier League run has incredible especially with the ex captain at the helm.
  3. Nashville Predators – The closest of my teams to a championship. That Stanley Cup run was a special special run as a freshman in college with a roommate who also loved hockey. I lived in Nashville also when they were trying to move the Preds from Nashville. My dad also knew David Poile so we would get free ice level seats because attendance was worse the league. Scottie Walker, David Legwand, Jordin Tootoo. Those were who we admired growing up. Fast forward to the Stanley Cup run and there is a bond you get with a team as an eastern time zone West Conference fan. The Mike Fisher (shoutout my ex neighbor Carrie Underwood) Triple OT winner was at 330 in the morning and i had been hungover for an hour by then. Growing up in Nashville (without parents from TN) this is always #2.
  4. Everyone Else – I will never lose sleep over this next group, but will always hop on the bandwagon because at some point in my life i was far too invested in them. University of Tennessee, Nashville SC, Chicago Cubs, and all USA teams.
  5. If Nashville Gets a Baseball Team – If Nashville gets an MLB team, i will have season tickets and will probably become too much of a fan. This honestly may jump to #2, something about being a 162 fan seems like it could ruin the relationship i will probably want to get out of at that time
